I know i need to upgrade ECU first off all either giac or APR chip.  cat back is a must and i need to upgrade the diverter valve so i don't lose boost. but what else can i do to make my A4 crazy in the long run so it goes fast as hell? if you could please list mods i can do and sites you can purchase these from that would be good. i want a good AWD car that can beat a lot of competition thanks!

How much money do you have?  And how long does the engine need to last?

Any serious power is going require a complete rebuild, a squential turbo system like BMW uses on thier in-line six would help driveability once you had it sorted out.  Larger injectors, water intercooler, nitrous, alcohol injection.

Pretty soon your into torque levels that will destroy the drivetrain; so transmission, driveshaft, differentials, halfshafts, .......

KO4 will boost your hp ALOT...but keep in mind that it is both very expensive, and you will need to buy alot of other parts to satisfy the amount of air and oil the turbo will suck.. (intercooler, larger downpipes, etc...alll in all it will cost you over 2k...but if your serious, go to audi forums (audiworld.com, audiforums.com) and look at the combinations of parts you can use...im not sure if it will void the warranty or not, as it is the same manufacturer that makes your stock turbo (KO3)...it will decrease your resale value because alot of people dont wanna buy an aftermarket car

chip is gonna be best as long as you're out of warranty. performance air filter with cold air box(Do not use a filter that requires oil, such as K&N, it will coat your MAF sensor). also, fuel injectors from a 225 hp TT.

Ok, on that type of car you need deep pockets.  Performance parts are not sold at Wallgreens like a 350 cu Chevy Crate Motor.  They are out there but if you measure HP vs $$$ you will see the loss on $$$ are far greater.  A lot of people are going to Japanese cars since they are cheap to buy and with very little you can have fun with them.  That is what we did in HS back in the early 80s.  Anyway, when you try to mod your car becomes a money pit, no matter what you have and there is no gain on it beside bragging rights and does not put food on the table neither.

1.8t? good luck

My 2004 STI is Cobb stage 2 and should be complete stage 3 by Feb 2008. Had the Audis and wasnt too pleased with all the problems I had with them when I added the HP. Wont ever buy a Audi again.

The 1.8T is a superb engine platform to run. As it's time line proved starting as 5 valve 150bhp car to conservative 250bhp in the TT (mind you longitudinal block) one can argue the engine is quite detuned from Audi/VW

I have had the 1.8T in 3 of my Audi's and have had great fun with them. I have ran APR, GIAC, Dahlback, SPORTEC and MTM. I have found myself much more partial to spending a bit more and running software and hardware from European tuners. The last kit I ran on my B6 was a the MTM Stage 3 K04 kit. Basic bolt on kit with stainless turbo inlet pipe I dyno'd 211whp on 93. Roughly 279bhp with that kit.

Decide how you want to own this car. Daily driver? Tuner project car? Don't spend or get into trouble with something you expect to drive daily. Any time you tweak an engine you are working against experienced engineers. Keep that in mind but have a blast. That engine can take a serious beating.
