« on: November 03, 2007, 10:47:37 AM »
I drive an 05 Honda Civic... about 45k miles. i bought it certified pre-owned when it had about 30k miles so I dont know if they did the tune up then

How do I know when to get a tune up?

How expensive is a tune up?

What does a tune up consist of?

plugs and wires and a oil change every time it calls for it. change plugs  once a year and wires if they look old and dry to the touch  open the hood at night and if it looks like the fourth of july change them

Have good shop that you trust do your oil changes and they will recommend the scheduled maintenance that your car needs, or if you have any driving problems have them recommend a repair.

now days most spark plugs will last about 60000 miles i would change plugs and wires at the same time the fuel filter needs to be changed once a year parts cost varies with make and model call a local parts store to get an idea labor depends on where you take it some shops are 50 some dealerships are 100 an hour wish i could help more best of luck
